What's led you to my site? What's intrigued you to read through the pages? Is it because you're currently experiencing someone who is terminally ill, someone on hospice or you see your caretaking requirements on the horizon?
Allow me to introduce myself. I am Victoria Beelik. I started this journey the first time my dad was placed in an assisted living facility. The loneliness, the anger, the confusion was beyond heartbreaking. One day, I asked the doctor why no one came to visit some of the patients. One of the most poignant responses I ever remember was his response that the patient made his/her family angry. I never knew how important this experience would be until after my parents passed away. How did I get to this path? : https://deathandlove.net/how-we-came-to-be
My goals are simple, to use what I've been blessed with an help those who need help, our elders and terminally ill loved ones.
I am spreading my story to make a difference for our elders. As a key note speaker and guest for podcasts, local interviews and formal events; I focus on providing the tools to help with communication, conflict resolution and maintaining family quality during these challenging times. My book, Watching My Parents Die, has taken off. It's been a guide for many to help them prepare as a family caregiver.
I will make a difference by helping other learn the changes in communication styles, handling the frustration and anger and working with the internal conflict to ensure your family stays together, full of love and is able to ensure your loved one passes, feeling that love.
I can also be contacted directly. My email is victoriabeelik@deathandlove.net
This is a deep level story of how I acted as the caretaker for my parents from the time they moved in until they passed away. I explore the emotions that I experienced while caring for them, the graphic details during the declining period and each of their deaths, what I learned and how I could have done things differently. It was a two year emotional journey to complete this book. Although it started as a means to help myself gain full closure, it has become a source of information, foresight and planning for many others.
If you have elderly parents, a loved one with a terminal illness, or know you will have to care for someone in the future, this book will provide insight on multiple levels.
Warning: this book is graphic and has controversial topics.

It is not easy to accept someone's impending death. It's not easy letting an unfamiliar person into the home, amongst the family during one of the most emotional times of their lives. It's my job to help make the transition process easier for the whole family, allowing the family what they need most; support, love from each other and to be able to care for and say goodbye to their loved one.
My work started before I knew I was on this journey. Friends trusted me to be part of their family and help during the dying process, unfamiliar families brought me into their most emotional time to help ensure a smooth transition, and my parents helped me to keep my promise to them when they went through the dying process.
